A facelift is the gold standard for improving the appearance of the lower third of the face. Jowling, extra fat and skin under the neck and the sagging of the midface all are significantly improved with this procedure. The result is a more youthful, less saggy appearance that does not look DIFFERENT, just BETTER. A "mini-lift" has become popular for patients in their 30s- 40s. This lift involves less dissection and therefore the recovery is quicker. A well-done lift does not pull on the corner of the mouth, result in a “windswept” appearance or have noticeable scars, but experience is critical to get the best results possible. Both a mini and a full facelift can be easily done under sedation and minimal pain and bruising is the norm. The results are permanent, but the face will continue to age. Generally, surgery is expected to “last” around a decade before a revision would be necessary.

The procedures cost $3000-7000 including sedation, and the downtime is 3-10 days.
